Macon-Bibb County Consolidation Update (1.22.13)

Last week, several consolidations meetings were scheduled but were cancelled due to a lack of a quorum. However, there were several updates the Committees wanted to provide the public. Those brief items are included in the file linked in this story.

Bibb County Commissioner Lonzy Edwards and Bibb County Sheriff David Davis have joined the Task Force taking the place of former Commissioner Elmo Richardson and Sheriff Jerry Modena respectively. Commissioner Edwards has been assigned to Finance, Facilities, and Technology Committees, and Sheriff Davis has been assigned to Technology and Human Resources. A new Committee chair for Technology will be named shortly.

In an effort to let you know what is being discussed and what has been decided throughout the transition process, the City and County are making information and meetings available to the public in a variety of ways.
