Macon -Bibb Fire Department Touts Fire Prevention Week Activities 2011

The Macon-Bibb County Fire Department kicked off it's annual Fire Prevention Week activities Monday morning in City Hall Council Chambers.This year's motto "Protect Your Family From Fire" was part of a County Wide Essay Contest where sixth grade students from all Bibb County Public and Private Schools were asked to submit a short essay on their thoughts about keeping their family fire safe.This year Capital City Bank sponsored the essay contest by providing the judges to select the five winners and also funded a portion of the prize award that was given to the top five picks as well. There were hundreds of essays submitted, all which were truly well thought out and artfully written.
