The Macon-Bibb County Office of Workforce Development, in collaboration with Central Georgia Technical College Adult Education Program, will offer an accelerated GED program called “PowerUp” beginning the fall 2012 academic year. PowerUp will focus on young adults between the ages of 19 and 21 who dropped out of high school and are unemployed and unskilled. PowerUp is an accelerated GED program that will take a young adult from no education, no job and no skills and in six (6) months assist them in attaining a GED, an industry certification in advance manufacturing, Work Ready Certificate and a job through the On-the-Job Training Program. The first PowerUp class will begin August 2012 and the students will graduate in December 2012.
