About Us

Economic Development is an integral function of the City of Macon Economic and Community Development Department. Our goals are to create jobs, increase the city's tax base, and improve the vitality of businesses, neighborhoods, and the City's livability as a whole.

The Economic and Community Development Department offers a variety of programs to promote economic development in Macon, such as the Main Street Program, Small Business Development Program, Façade Improvement Program, Brownfields Grants program as well as various incentives for business and property owners who wish to start or expand their business. Additionally, the economic development division works on major redevelopment projects and initiatives that create viable opportunities for economic development, private investment and job creation for all Macon residents.
