About Us

The Macon-Bibb County Office of Workforce Development is the administrative entity for the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998, which superseded the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA). WIA is a federally funded Department of Labor program that provides employability training to adults, dislocated workers, and youth.

    Mission Statement:

    • Enables individuals to achieve their highest potential
    • Ensures employers have the skilled workers they need to compete effectively in the global economy
    • Capitalizes on the untapped potential of underemployed and discouraged workers, youth and other job seekers with special needs
