Certified Landfill

The certified landfill is located on Eleventh Street and is open:
Monday – Friday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
Saturday: 7:30am – 3:00pm
Sunday: Closed

As of July 27, 2009 the following fees are for garbage coming from your home inside the City limits of Macon:

>A city resident can receive one (1) free load to the landfill per month as long as the load is less than 500 pounds.
>Anything over 500 pounds will be charged $27.75 per ton. Any additional loads that month will be $27.75 per ton, no exceptions.
Note: You must have a city address on your drivers license to receive the free load under 500 pounds.

**All non city residents will be charged $27.75 for each visit to the landfill.

The Inert Landfill (Wood Pit) and the Transfer Station will be open during the normal operations as the landfill.

Commercial customers are charged a $27.75 per ton fee. The fee is based on actual and projected cost recovery for landfill operation and is among the lowest in the country. Payment can be made by Check, Money Order, or Credit Card. NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED.
